What Makes Our Orchids So Great
We propagate our plants from seedpod to finished product and rogue out weak plants through the entire growing process. If a baby seedling is not strong in the lab, it does not go outside. If an outside seedling is not strong, it is not potted up. If a finished plant is not strong when in bloom, it is not shipped.
We plant our finished orchids a year prior to sale. This results in well rooted plants and gives the soil time to begin breaking down. The process produces a plant that blooms longer and stronger than plants recently repotted. Please see our consumer website for a detailed discussion on how and why it works.
Other growers who purchase prefinished products do not have the luxury of culling plants. Their loss is much higher if they throw it away.
Finally our selection is incredible! When a retailer puts 24 plants on display that have a wide variety of blooms and characteristics customers are mesmerized. They quickly realize the unique qualities of the orchid and if they do not purchase it immediately someone else certainly will. And many times, customers are attracted to more than one orchid because each is unique.
On the other hand, if a retailer places 24 plants on display, six white, six pink, six yellow, and six purple, all looking the same, customers do not feel the urgency to buy. And they don't buy. They delay the purchase to another time believing, when they return, the same plants will be available. But they never return to make a purchase and one less orchid is sold.
