Re-potting you orchid
2) Prepare your orchid by shaking off the old soil and cutting off dead roots.
3) Use a pot that is at least one size larger and put enough soil in the bottom of the pot so that when you place the orchid in the pot, the top or crown of the orchid is situated approximately at the top of the pot.
4) Place the orchid in the center of the pot, with all of its roots going down in the pot, then put additional soil all around it.
5) When the soil has covered all the roots and the leaves and the crown are the only part of the plant that is exposed, then tap the pot so that the soil settles and fills in the air spaces.
6) Water the orchid in, and for the next week, watch it closely to see if it needs re-watering. This is especially important if you have skipped the first step of not pre-soaking the soil.
